May have added Applecare? I know students get a pretty heavy discount on it.
Also waiting for the free iPod deal too.. using it as a little subsidy cause as a student quite a tight budget, going for the base 27, selling the iPod, should be able to net it for ~1600 after tax :)
No, no Applecare, just 27" 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 2TB Serial ATA Drive, everything else is default. Speaking of iPods, what kind are we going to get?

Looks like it's going to be a dud. Android just isn't appealing to me on 2 screens.

next time post quicktime links instead of windows media. my mac is slow when it comes to windows media files. it looks great, it's hard to imagine how it can be any better in terms of graphics, but that was what i was thinking in 2003 when i first saw the doom 3 and half-life 2 physics, AI, and graphics demos.

yet it needs to be said that the radioactive fallout from 1986 still has an health impact: in austria and germany health organizations still advise pregnant women and children to keep consumption of hunted game animals and eatable funghi within certain limits
especially with bigger game animals the meat can exceed legal limits

Great to hear! I got mine on launch, but now the wife wants one so I'll be in the hunt. Are they getting a wide variety of models daily? I'll be searching for a white AT&T 16 or 32. Still handing out tickets in the morning?
I don't know about during the week (I'm assuming yes) but this weekend they did tickets. I'm honestly surprised how many people were still getting in line sat mornings. I know at least one day last week they had "an assortment" of 3G iPads when I called at noontime. When I asked the rep early last week what the spread of models they were getting was, she said it was a relatively even spread. If you could settle for VZW, the target in Norwood had a 64gig and a 16gig white.

I found one of my magsafe chargers flashing green/orange while NOT plugged into the computer - just hanging in the breeze. It was plugged into a wall outlet that was successfully powering a lamp with CFL. What the deuce?

and it has been suggested I reload Windows 7, do I need to first nuke it via Bootcamp and then put it back with Apple's process or can I short cut this? I just need to reload the Windows directory from what I can tell.
FWIW, whenever I try to install VMWare tools (or even Parallels) I get the same error which is

@MacUser2525,
Thank you much for the correction and source. I'm not sure if any of our hereos that survived WWI are left alive. It would be a sad day for this world should any nation's citizens forget to remember the ultimate unselfish sacrifices that where made.
I agree with you there, according to wiki.answers.com among other hits I got when searching there is one among a very short list of others from different countries.

Something like that should never happen. Did they tell y'all why the power went out? Usually generators are at hospitals for the very reason.

I have a G5 with OSX 10.3.7 and I'm having the worst time with it. It wasn't so bad before but for some reason now, the WMV3 Codec is appearing in almost every video I want to watch on my Macintosh. Usually it gave itself away when files have the "WMV" type attached, but lately the codec is masking itself into even my trusted AVI files.
I've tried every possible solution, I've tried Windows Media Player, VLC Player, MPLAYER, etc. I've even tried converting the WMV file type to something else but the programs on Macintosh can't do it. I tried calling Apple Support but they wanted $50.00 just for me to talk to somebody. Is there any way to play this type of file? What, am I going to have to run out and conform to a horrible PC because of it? It's bad enough Macro Media Flash Player is trash on the Macintosh, but if I can't even view movies....what's the point anymore of having Macintosh? God knows I love the thing but really, this is just annoying :(

Cool, so the answer is 'probably'. :) I'd be interested to know if anyone who has one can verify.

I have a 24" iMac (Aluminum) on eBay but I am interested in picking up a third Mac Intel laptop. Is anyone interested in a trade + cash for the iMac? Specs are available on eBay, search for item #250262417485.
No other trades please, nothing else needed besides a laptop from Apple. No G4 or earlier laptops either. Catch me on AIM or via PM.

Hmm.. I wonder how many people assume I'm a guy.

Does the promotion definitely start at the end of May? I graduate June 12, so there's a limited window in which I can still take advantage of the student deals (and my 2007 MacBook is on its way out).

I recently updated to Xcode 4, and am ready to submit my app. However, I cannot find how to save the file to my computer for upload. It either goes directly to the device, or directly to the simulator. There are no .ipa or .app files in the build folder. How do I get the file saved so I can upload to app store?
PS: I AM registered in the iPhone developer program, so that is not the problem.

From a firmware perspective, try resetting the PRAM (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238) and if that doesn't work, reset the PMU (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449). :)
