I had an app rejected because the icon was a cartoon of the presidential seal where the eagle, in one claw, was holding an iphone-looking phone, which I drew myself, and which was probably 12 pixels x 6 pixels or so in size (in an overall icon that was 57px x 57px.)
But apparently including a 3/4 scale photo of an iphone is fine.
Whatever.

Come on Apple... open the doors. Let's not be too far behind, here...
I hope Apple is at least somewhat prepared for the demand... :)

Looks like the C2D MBPs will be unveiled here. I mean the 17 MBP was unveiled at NAB, which is another imaging related event. Why do i get the feeling that Adobe might surprise us with CS3 there?..i mean if Apple is sending out invites then something big is happening and no its not an iSLR

I totally agree. My C2D Macs ( I am a new Mac convert since 2009) are plenty fast for me even though the Apple haters on Mac Rumors are quick to tell me I have old technology with my C2D Macs. My Mini Server is one powerful little machine. I am running 3 virtual machines including a production web server and email server. The Macs "just work!" I can't say the same for my days with Windows.
The hard truth is that the C2Ds are more than enough for the vast majority of users.
If you are a gung ho power user, then no, but for most people these chips are still fine.

I wonder what will happen here. Form the "who's suing who" infrographics I've seen, Samsung remained pretty much untouched until now.
that's because samsung supplies all these companies with parts for their phones. Sue Samsung, risk getting the shaft on internals! We'll see what happens.

Why not just make a Mini type box with 802.11n with DVI/HDMI/S-Video and Digital/Analog out ports.Connect that to the tv then stream from your computer or the movie store. While we're at it toss a hefty HD in the mini for recording.
There's no point in having a hard drive, why would you even want it if you can stream in real time from your computer? And why make it a "mini" size box when it can just be something tiny enough to hold AV outputs?

Sounds good! New iMacs May 3rd, new MacBook Airs, maybe June 7th, MacOS-X 10.7, Lion, later in June. Keep it up!

Meh... I was really hoping for a vastly improved Target Mode. Instead I got a seriously crippled one - no industry standard inputs and only support for a tenth of a of the input devices on the market....

KEEP IT. Our freedoms are essential. All Dems want it out. Figures: more people in jail to fuel a world under government thumbs living for the machine.
Since all the Senators are Democrats, Apple can leave the app there and just reply to the "With more than 10,000 Americans dying in drunk-driving crashes every year,..." to just call them 'came to term whole-birth abortions'...
Yeah, except it is more than 10,000/year. Virgin sacrifice: America's civilized way of preserving the ability to go clubbing.

Oh boy I've been trying to hold strong with my perfectly working 2009 MBP and not give in to any updates... This is the longest I've gone with a computer since I started using Macs lol...... But a case re-design might be too much for me.

Exactly. The sad thing is that people pay them to predict something 4 years out like this. In a vibrant market like this, there is no way predictions 4 years out will be right. Maybe 1 year could be close.
I shall come back to this prediction 4 years from now, and laugh at how dumb the prediction is.

If the new one is announced before your order ships, it will be automatically upgraded. Otherwise, you should return the unopened product within 2 weeks of purchase for a free upgrade.
so far its 24hr shipping..
that will mean living with a MBP unopened for 11 days and then some... :D

When Windows starts to come close to SL in terms of ease of use and functionality let me know ;)
when closing an application in OS X is as easy as clicking an X in the top right corner let me know
even though iOS is a lot better than android some of the over simplicity is annoying on the iphone

and nobody noticed this?
The group had purchased a small both with contract terms to only hand out leaflets within their assigned area and to not take photographs at other stands.

:confused::confused: Apple has NOTHING ! and NOTHING is accessible by everybody (except the owner of the device)
The data is stored on YOUR phone and YOUR laptop ... Apple does not have a centralized database with that data - it is all on your devices.
THAT is why it is not a bad thing
The governments have those big databases, but that's a different story.
THAT is the bad thing
1. Does Apple require Verizon and AT&T to share any information with them?
2. If you leave your phone for service, do the geniuses lift any information from the phone?
And
3. If Apple doesn't have a need for the information, if they don't collect it, then why is it stored on the phone? Why is it unencrypted?

Why does Apple think it's okay to continually alienate and turn away developers?? Why do fanboys continue to excuse such incidences? Why aren't people SICK of this kind of behavior from Apple?
Obviously people are. Rogue Amoeba and Joe Hewitt both jumping ship on the same day doesn't seem to be a coincidence to me.
However, until this has a noticeable impact on the user, most won't be as upset as the developers are. Facebook will continue where Joe left off, and Rogue Amoeba's app served a very specific audience (albeit very well). If Facebook were to, say, remove their app from the store, then this might hit people's radar in a meaningful way.

Aperture update - definite
MacBook Pro C2D - likely
iPod photo accessory - maybe
Cinema displays - not likely
iPhone - no way
Still a bit anemic isnt it?

ridiculous
coporate types acting like the aritocracy
let information flow
let freedom reign
Let a bunch of Greenpeace guys go too far at a tradeshow (see above) and get away with it. Read up on the above comments. They violated their contracts and screwed with other vendors' booths. Perhaps you should learn how to think rationally, then learn how to spell.

If you make the MBP thinner, it will just be a big MBA.
The right way is to make bigger MBAs, not to make thinner MBPs.
A more powerful competitor to 15" Zacate netbooks.
Uhh, no, it won't. As long as the logic board is at the thickest point then they will be able to house the same power components as the current Pro.
Making the Pro thinner and removing the optical drive does not make a big MBA. Not in the slightest.

Maybe the reason for not having a traditional keypad is that this is actually the iPhone Shuffle.
Apple's market research team has concluded that people get tired of talking to the same people all time. And since the iPod Shuffle is such a hit playing songs randomly,
the new iPhone Shuffle will randomly dial numbers, so every call you make is never boring.
Got more than 240 numbers in your adressbook? No problem. Let iTunes autofill your iPhone shuffle and get a new telephonic experience every time. Mom follows Work. Home follows Pizza Parlor. iPhone shuffle loves to improvise. Take the Shuffle switch, for instance. Even if youve synced a particular call-list, you can shuffle numbers with a flick.

How big would a high quality feature length movie be?
And no, I havn't read all 6 pages of the posts, so sorry if it's been discussed.

Photokina is a photo convention. Not a computer convention.
yes, and photo software runs on computers. "This is the new Aperture. and it will run beautifully on the new C2D Macbook Pro I just announced. Boom. does this... Boom, does that...etc..."
EDIT: iMeowbot beat me to it, but what he/she said

Don't do it Apple!
Seriously, apps like trapster have saved my ass from the doughnut eating porkers in my area (not DUI, rather speeding). Seriously don't give into the government, they just want the police to be able to slowly rape more and more of our rights and freedoms (including my right to do 75 on a empty back road if I want to).
