    I like it.

Plus, it gives them the ability to be much stricter in dealing with repeat offenders - the "we gave you a course in this, you obviously failed, you're done here."

How many Intel Macs in public release? None.
How many PPC Macs installed across the globe. Millions.

Do you honestly think that software suppliers are going to ignore that market?

By the time PPC software is obsolete, your new G5 will be too.

Way to give the guy mixed messages, eh?

Seriously, though, it's a tough call. If you're really into gaming, and the titles you want to play aren't out for the Mac, I'd hold off. If you do development, or creative stuff, the current PowerMacs will be powerhouses for a few years to come, and serviceable for a long time after that.

As far as Apple supporting the PPC into the future, not only would it be suicidal to hang their pro-buying customers out to dry, they've made it so easy to support the PPC with Xcode that I think we'll be seeing universal binaries for a long time to come... possibly forever: I suspect Intel will be releasing some new chips in the next few years that aren't strictly x86, and Apple's development tools are already chip-agnostic. I wouldn't be at all surprised if some more target-architecture check-boxes appear in Xcode in the future. Different apps will be optimized for different CPUs, so you'll buy the right Mac for the job.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers.

There's pretty much no chance in hell of Ivy Bridge coming out in September, let alone anything earlier than 2012. The only thing we might see this year is a added spec bump option like the 2.8 GHz Core i7 option (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/10/20/15-inch-and-17-inch-macbook-pros-receive-2-8-ghz-core-i7-option/) that was added to the 2010 MBP's.

Why doesn't Google just send a payment for every time a video is viewed? The artists would make a ton of money and the videos would get to stay. Pulling them down and giving people a reprimand is not the right way to go.

my suggestion would be the T3i for a beginner with the kit lens. As the previous poster said, it's not the best lens, but for a starting point, it's not too bad.

Ideally, though, if it is something you may want to expand with, check out used or refurbished Canon Cameras. You can get a gently used 5D or a 7D for about the same price as a brand new T3i. Even go as far as looking at a 50D or 60D.

Benefits are that when you get out of the digital Rebel line, you get out of the plastic bodied cameras and get into the magnesium alloy bodies, which hold up better over time.

Keep in the back of your mind that the camera bodies are the disposable part of the equation now days, and you should make a larger portion of your investment in the lenses. A good lens will last a long time. Also, you can put a crappy lens on a crappy camera and you get crappy image quality. Crappy lens on great camera still will yield crappy image quality. Put a great lens on a crappy camera and you will get great image quality (assuming your camera's sensor is somewhat current). Put that great lens on a great camera, and you get great image quality.... (this does not take into account your skills)

I hope these iPhone rumors are true. I've been putting off the PDA-world for too long, waiting for something that would work seemlessly with my Mac lifestyle. C'mon Apple, don't let me down!

I've created an A1 size poster (150DPI) with the width and length dimensions matching that of A1. I'm getting it printed at a place in town, however they said they preferred it to be in PDF format.

I'm not sure how to save it as an A1 PDF - if I go to print then 'save as PDF' I don't get an A1 option, or the ability to enter custom info.

How would I go about doing this?

EDIT: DOH! Found it under Export options which I overlooked! Problem solved!

Apps wise I think you're stuck. I'm pretty sure app purchases can be shared but both phones need to be synced to the same computer/library and account for them to load on both phones. Somebody can correct me though.

As for music. Try using a flash drive to copy the files between computers. When you try to play them in the other itunes library it should ask for you to type in that person's itunes password. That will authorize your computer. You can do that for up to 5 computers. It will only matter for music you bought in itunes.

For some reason my GT 120 has bitten the dust. I have an old 8800gt and a old monitor I can use to avoid downtime while AppleCare replaces my GT 120. The thing is the other monitor is to damn small (17") Is there any way I can connect my ACD to the 8800gt. Some sort of adapter maybe?

You weren’t clear about your questions, you keep going back and forth about Safari’s refreshing thing on iOS and iOS vs. Lion. I tried to explain everything from the beginning.

Well finally we get to something that might actually be helpful. This would help to explain why Macs don't do this. But are there any issues/concerns with this?
The NANDs (flash storage) in the mobile devices are too slow to constantly swap out between the system memory and the NANDs. The other problem is that the more you swap out from the NANDs, the faster it dies. The smaller the capacity, the faster it can die as well. NANDs have a very limited write lifespan, it can’t handle the brutal write-intensive swap page. RAM doesn’t have this problem, which is why it is used for memory tasks.

I know why they did it. And that is the way Apple wants it, that's why it's default. If it were up to Apple the option to put it back would be gone. But they were smart enough to anticipate the "outrage"It doesn’t have anything to do with a potential outrage from customers, Apple usually do not care about this. The biggest reason that it is optional is because the auto-resume/auto-save/versions are not mandatory and each app have to be written to take advantage of those features. It’ll be a long time before every apps on your Mac can take advantage of this.

This is my point of concern. No closing could cause apps to "close" that you didn't want them to. Now most of them would be able to *resume* as left with no issue. But would 30 safari tabs be handled the same way? You can still close the applications the same way as you do on Snow Leopard. If the system becomes slow, the OS will not start to close apps, it’ll just be slower as it adapt to using your hard drive. Safari is the same way, you close Safari and once it opens, it’ll start in a new tab waiting for you to visit a site. As far as I am aware, it doesn’t resume *yet* from your previous session.

The only major difference between Lion and SL in terms of resuming is how the apps open back up and how it automatically save your files.

Finally got it working with an infinite loop:
