While pre-orders of Apple's Second Generation iPod Shuffle, which has a capacity of one Gigabyte (1 Gigabyte = 1,000,000,000 bytes) have recently begun to ship to customers (those who buy things), Apple has announced the general availability of the music player in Apple Retail Stores and Authorized Retailers worldwide this Friday.
AppleInsider (another rumor site) has reported that while retailers (those who sell things) may get stock of the players prior to Friday, they will not be allowed to place them out for sale until Friday.

i'm very tempted...
I purchased Tweetie 1.0 but got bored with it and went back to TweetDeck. Still loving that dark theme from TweetDeck so not sure about Tweetie 2.0. Although, the Offline stuff sounds great!

Not the same app, totally new app.I purchased this app "again"... and...
- SimplyTweet have more features then Tweetie 2.
- Pay for each updates.
- Not much has changed from the previous one.
- Still no push notification.
- Only fancy design nothing new and exiting.

Sounds awesome, but I'll still stick with Camino until Safari speeds up a bit and is more stable. Those were my only two issues.

You can make the dock transparent with Mirage Dock. Works with 2D or 3D dock.

Why do any of you care? None of you are seeing profit or loss in this situation.
Some of you sound pissed, like T.J. Maxx personally offended you by selling cheaper iPads.
Now is a good time to get one if you don't already have one. Stop arguing about warranty, you should be getting Apple care on your idevice anyway.
So... What are you waiting for? Go get one before they run out! Profit or loss is none if your concern.

I can remember much smaller disk drives, under 100MB that used 14 inch diameter patters and hydraulic pistons to move the read/write heads. The disk drive was about the same size and shape as a home washing machine. This was in the early 1970's.
Can we go back to floppy drives? I love the way those 5 1/4" floppys.. ummm flopped :)

Dang, Federighi has large shoes to fill. His Lion demo was so-so. Serlet has been on the Mac OS X team since day one if I remember right, and has always seemed to understand where it needed to go next.
I wonder if the departure has anything to do with Mac OS X transitioning away from a traditional desktop OS towards a more touch-centric, "no-fuss" one. Would be interested in Serlet's opinion on this.

It seems like Serlet is more of an independent worker who *thinks different* where as Craig is a hardworker but would just "follow." Not making a cheap shot, they're both really good at what they do, just an (maybe wrong) assumption of mine.
In any case, sad to see Serlet go.

No sir, I don't like it. No matter how you slice it, prices going up with competition going down (T-Mo buyout) only means customer gets screwed. But more importantly, I see this as a hedge for Ma Bell. (Roughly) six months prior to VZW iPhone availability/announcement, ATT hiked up ETFs. Now this. Could be that the upcoming iPhone 5 is yet another killer product in that such a move would be a stop-gap for would-be early upgraders and ATT wanting to offset that subsidy. If timing of this were an indicator like the ETFs in relation to VZW iPhone, six months from now would be quasi-in-line with rumored iPhone 5 release.

Who needs a phone with a touch screen? Unless Apple wants to only sell a $500+ phone which most people would not throw down the cash for, this will most likely never happen.
Just imagine what the cost of one of these screens would cost, and how much it would cost to get replaced if it broke.

You could use some sort of plug in like, a vocoder, auto-tune, vocal transformer in logic.

Apple Labels it as the iPod shuffle 1G 2nd Gen, so I think this should be the term used. Also, my order status shows my shuffle is now scheduled for delivery by Nov 2.
